Meadow Lake Provincial Park

The Meadow Lake Provincial Park is the second largest provincial park in Saskatchewan and one of the busiest. The Park stretches from the Alberta border east about 110 kilometers and has several park entrances with three of the entrances being close to the Villages of Pierceland, Goodsoil and Dorintosh.

Makwa Lake Provincial Park

Whether you are spending a single day or several, Makwa Lake Provincial Park has recreational opportunities to keep you entertained. Visitors can spend the day relaxing on a beach, hiking, or enjoying water sports. Anglers have the opportunity to try out their fishing luck while scouting for Northern Pike, Walleye, Perch, Whitefish and Rainbow Trout.

Great Golfing

Looking for a peaceful place to spend the day on the greens? Northwest Saskatchewan offers golfers endless opportunities with beautiful courses through a mix of meadow and boreal forests.

ATV and Snowmobiling

One of the first things you may notice in Meadow Lake, are the ATV’s in the box of many pick up trucks. ATV and snowmobiling are two activities which are highly recommended in the area. ATV enthusiasts will have an abundance of opportunities to try out trails and join in on rallies.

More Outdoor Fun

Hunting and Fishing - Here in Northwest Saskatchewan we are blessed with an abundance of sparkling lakes, flowing rivers, and of course secret fishing spots! You are now entering the “serious angling” zone. Fishing is the #1 recreational activity in this region. Your mouth will be watering when you see and smell the fish frying over a fire. The Northwest has a wealth of unique fishing spots and a variety of wildlife.

Boating and Canoeing

Many people may be aware that Saskatchewan has over 100, 000 lakes, rivers and other bodies of water. Here in Meadow Lake we are blessed to have a large majority of those lakes, rivers, and bodies of water.

Cross Country Skiing

Cross Country Skiing is one of the fastest growing winter activities for people of all ages. It is a sport for the young and old. Whether you are a first time skier or a push-your-limits novice, skiing is a way to get fit and have fun during our winter months.

Another outdoor activity which is familiar to most people is the camping experience. Meadow Lake can offer campers whatever experience they may be looking for.

For many families, couples, and friends, hitting the trails are a way to spend a beautiful day while getting exercise. Trails can have a variety of purposes for many people. Exercise, mountain biking, walking, hiking, jogging, bird watching, picnics, and educational purposes are all great reasons to take on a trail.

With so many recreational opportunities in and around Meadow Lake, trails are a part of the recreational experience!
